Industrial Filters We offer a wide range of filters that has gained huge appreciation in the market for its quality features. Filtration is done to remove the foreign matter, suspended particles and odor. These days, most of the water treatment plants like softeners, RO, DM or ETP use filtration mechanisms in up stream or down stream applications, depending upon the requirement. The filtration units are designed on turbidity in raw water, which is a measure of presence of suspended matter. The surface water like in rivers have high turbidity levels as compared to bore well waters.
Different types of filters & their brief processes as well as advantages are given below:
- The sand filter comprises multiple layers of sand put above one another in a pressure vessel
- The coarse layers (pebbles) are at the bottom & fine layer (16/32 fine sand) is put on the top
- The filtration happens in the top layer
- The dirt gets accumulated in the filter bed & gradually pressure drop starts increasing in the bed
- The filters are backwashed in the reverse direction (up flow) to remove the dirt accumulated on the top
- This dirt is taken out of the filter through drain pipes
- Activated carbon is one of the most widely used media for adsorption of impurities and for de-chlorination, removal of organics and removal of odor
- The supporting media (pebbles) are put at the bottom & carbon of specified grade is put as top layer
- The carbon filters also need backwash to loosen the bed similar to sand filter
Micron Filters: We also offer Micron Filters, which are used as polishing filters where the suspended particles up to 5 microns, 1 micron are to be removed. These are widely used in pharmaceuticals, mineral water plants, pre-treatment to RO plants & point of use systems. We can provide these in various options based on application, sizes, flow and quality desired.
